Through this acquisition by ESHG, the Tivoli brand substantially strengthened its supply in the congress market and in leisure markets such as golf. In 2001, the revitalized chain opened another hotel to the public, the Tivoli Tejo, an outstanding 4 star property located in the Parque das Nações, in Lisbon (former Expo '98 site). In 2002, with the Tivoli Ocean Park Hotel, Tivoli Hotels arrived in Madeira. Espírito Santo Hotels acquired a 50% share in the company which owns this modern property in Funchal, and established a ten-year management contract. With its guarantee of tradition, quality and comfort, through this evolution the Tivoli chain of hotels has managed to maintain its personality while also improving levels of success and service.
